Elisa Panjang, our esteemed founder, has led a distinguished career, driven by an unyielding commitment to pangolin conservation in Sabah, Malaysia. Her efforts were first globally recognised in 2017, when she received the Wildlife Warrior Award from the Houston Zoo. This honour acknowledged not only her invaluable contribution to Sunda pangolin conservation and research, but also her resolute dedication to heighten public awareness and promoting sustainable practices to protect these extraordinary animals.
Elisa's journey of impact did not stop there. In 2021, her tireless work earned her the title of Pangolin Champion, awarded by Save Pangolins. Her sphere of influence expanded further in 2023 when she was selected as a National Geographic Explorer, underscoring her global reach in conservation work.
